Spooktacular Halloweeen at Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library on Oct. 28
Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library is hosting a Spooktacular Halloween from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 28. The event is free and everyone is invited. Costumes are highly encouraged.
Activities include a Halloween story time for ages 3 to 5, a paper craft for ages 0 to 5, and a Halloween painting craft for ages 6+. All materials will be provided by the library.

The Thelma Parker Memorial Public Library, located at 67-1209 Mamalahoa Highway, is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 12 noon to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday.
Kona Commons hosts Halloween events Oct. 28 and 29
Drop by Kona Commons Shopping Center this month and for seasonal music with the Kamuela Philharmonics Orchestra’s Kona Winds and a Trunk or Treat event with the Kona Racing Association.
Kamuela Philharmonics Orchestra’s Kona Winds will brew up some familiar and frightful musical treats at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28. The group will play in the area fronting Jean’s Warehouse.
Get an early start to Halloween by joining the Kona Racing Association for a Trunk or Treat experience for families, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29 in the Kona Commons parking lot across from Office Max. Costumes are optional.
Both events are free, family friendly, and open to the public.
Arbor Day event at Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden on Nov. 4
The Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden’s Arbor Day event, and the Friends Annual Meeting, take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4.
A plant sale and giveaway is from 9 a.m. to 12 noon with educational workshops on kalo and ‘ulu, lomilomi, and food by donation.
The Annual Meeting of the Friends happens at 12 noon. Visitors are welcome to have lunch and hear updates on programs and progress in the garden!
